Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, we store only a secure one-way hash of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.
• Photos you upload: used to identify the object and generate your blueprint. Before upload, your device shrinks the photo and removes its metadata (such as GPS location).
• Your results: the generated blueprint image, the parts list, and whether you made it public.
• Billing details: your plan, billing dates, remaining scans, and payment reference numbers. Card details are entered on Wompi’s payment page, and we never see or store them.
• Security data: temporary counters tied to your IP address or email address, used to block password guessing and abuse.

How we use it

We use this information only to run Teardown: to sign you in, generate and store your blueprints, process your subscription, send account emails (verification, password reset, renewal reminders), and keep the service secure. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising trackers.

Who processes your data

We rely on a small number of service providers, each receiving only what it needs:

• OpenAI analyzes your photo, researches the object on the web, and generates the blueprint image. Under OpenAI’s API data policy, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default.
• Vercel hosts the website and counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you personally.
• Neon hosts our database.
• Wompi (Banco Agrícola, El Salvador) processes payments.
• Resend delivers account emails.
• Google handles sign-in, if you choose “Continue with Google”.

These providers may store data in the United States or other countries. By using Teardown, you understand your data may be processed outside your own country.

How long we keep it

• Photos: deleted from our database as soon as your blueprint finishes, or as soon as the scan fails.
• Blueprints and parts lists: kept until you delete them or delete your account.
• Account and billing records: kept while your account exists. Wompi keeps its own payment records as required by financial regulations.

Sharing blueprints

Blueprints are private by default. If you choose “Share publicly”, anyone with the link can see the blueprint and parts list, but never your name, email or original photo. You can make it private again at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can delete any blueprint from its page, and delete your entire account (including every blueprint and parts list) from Settings. Deleting your account also stops any subscription charges. To access, correct or export your data, or for any privacy question, email nelsonleiva8@gmail.com.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in, plus the short-lived cookies sign-in needs to work securely. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, access to your blueprints is restricted to your account, and sign-in and scanning are rate-limited against abuse. No online service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.

Children

Teardown is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll notify you by email or in the app.
